Orders

The next two editions of our journal can now be pre-ordered!

We will create and publish the editions in the second block of the current academic semester, (March to June 2025). The editions will be printed in May and it will be possible to order until May 5. Authors and students in the course will receive a free copy of the edition they have worked and do not have to put an order in for this. They can of course use the form to order the other edition or additional copies.

Edition 1 focuses on art from before 2000 and includes a wide range of articles dealing with subjects like prehistoric clothing, the secret behind the translucent veils in the paintings of the Flemish primitives, ideas about grotesques, porcelain from Iznik, Persia and China and Japanese painting from the Edo period. The edition contains texts in Dutch and English.

Edition 2 focuses on modern and contemporary art and is published entirely in English. It discusses artists such as Marina Abramovic and Yoko Ono, the underwater sculpture park by Jason deCaires Taylor and the fictional Chinese texts by Xu Bing. Furthermore, the collection of the Uffizi Museum in Florence is screened for inclusivity and the film The Killing of a Sacred Deer is examined from an art-theoretical perspective.

Since we have no financial backing and are strictly non-profit, we have to work on a print-on-demand basis and can only print physical journals that have been ordered and paid for beforehand. For that reason we also cannot provide backorders. We do, however, have some remaining prints of volume 1, editions 1 and 2 (2023-24).
